We're just back from Margarita where once again we had wind every day, ranging from 12-25 knots! Guests learned to carve gybe, waterstart, chop hop, forward loop, duck gybe, use footstraps, sail over powered, accelerate faster, crank upwind, blast downwind, hey, let them do the talking-
"just wanted to say a huge thanks to you for all your phenomenal coaching over the two weeks in margarita, definitely feel you kicked my windsurfing up a gear or two, was amazed by your 24/7 dedication and enthusiasm to all aspects of the trip" GW

"Thanks for an excellent intuition week, really admire your energy you put into these weeks!" JG
As usual we had loads of unique INtuition experiences, like the world's best acrobatic show- where former world champs Ricardo Campello and Golitto leapt over our heads with double forward loops and more, with UK champ Bubble spinning wildly too.

By day we enjoyed trips to Coche for the flattest water west of Dahab- a total gybe paradise where most guests also clocked their fastest ever speed runs, but most days we blasted out at El Yaque, against the tricky chop and learned to sail in these tough conditions and strong winds.

We held our annual fun slalom event with notable sailors in the fleet such as Gollito, Simon Bornhoft and Bubble, which was as ever a hilarious pursuit racing/reverse grid event so who ever won a race had to start last in the next, where we had as many as 25 entrants. Mike set a speed record for the week of 32 knots, and most people set their personal bests.

By night we dined in all the best Venezuelan haunts, including Carne Del Lenche out of town for a music concert- the bouncer on the door was brandishing a sawn off shot gun though so we didn't stay for long, and for the best chicken on the island at Carne De Jimi, on the side of the main road. We also headed over the mountain to watch a stunning sunset with a few beers before dining on the largest lobsters I've ever seen in a beach restaurant.

In El Yaque we toured all the best haunts, enjoying the variety of good restaurants as a group, after a few well-earned cocktails as the sun set and the memories and successes of the days sailing soaked in.

We all got the infamous El Yaque el yak bug, but no one missed more than a couple of days off the water and took it as a much needed rest. Other damage was fairly limited- I broke another video camera but there were few hangovers as with the new weekly flights we never quite acclimatized enough to have the crazed late nights some people have had in El Yaque- we remained relatively sober and went for the early starts and early dinners.

The return flight was timed perfectly to be the first plane to try and land at Gatwick in the infamous March 10th storm, and we very nearly did land, albeit with a crash, but in the final seconds aborted and just about made it above the clouds to eventually land at Birmingham instead!

For the first time ever I lost my room keys out to sea, including my safe key, but for the first time ever one of my guests was a professional safe cracker (what are the odds?!)

Once again Intuition's weeks in Margs scored perfect conditions and we had a classic couple of weeks, where some joined me for just one week, and others for two, with loads of fun, games and amusing banter on the beach, in the water and at dinner. I love it!
