INTUITION COURSE FreeRide
LOCATION REPORT
Cribby's Comment
'Dahab is my most popular windsurfing coaching venue for people cracking the carve gybe. We have an outstanding wind record since 1999 when I run my first courses there, in the May/June and September courses, totaling 175 days so far, I have only had four days with out wind! It is literally guaranteed! The November courses are not as reliable, but in the most recent years with better early planing kit and a change in the weather pattern, they too have incredibly high stats. My local knowledge ensures the best time on and off the water, the video towers ensure brilliant footage of you in action, the safety of the bay installs massive confidence and the flat water really helps you to crack the gybe and footstraps. It's one of the world's best windsurfing locations, with 13 windsurfing centres as testimony to it's reliability and perfection. If you want to see how good it looks on film, the INtuition DVD was shot there. I hope to see you there one day to radically improve your all round windsurfing!'

RENTAL CENTRE
Harry Nass Surf & Action Centre. JP & Neil Pryde kit. More than three times the size of any other Dahab centre but with out the crowds. In the best location for INtuition and the only location that ensures you can't get swept out of the bay. On an INtuition course you have variety of boards to use, rather than the fixed board scheme many centres use.
Every sailor going onto the speed area (off shore) is issued with personal walkie talkies to keep in touch with Harry's personal rescue boat.
HOTEL Hilton Hotel On the beach four mins walk to windsurf centres. Outstanding architecture and huge air conditioned rooms. The best food and biggest rooms of all the hotels surrounding the windsurfing bay (I've stayed at all of them!).
TRANSFER TIME
80mins from Sharm El Sheik airport. |

MEALS
Breakfast - Fantastic buffet. Lunch - At the windsurf centre in the Italian restaurant. We order lunch before we go windsurfing in the mornings, that way when we come off the water at 1pm (or other arranged time), the meal is there waiting for us to wolf down immediately! Wasting as little precious windsurfing time as possible. That way we can relax for half an hour after lunch, rather than before. This system works wonders as the Egyptians have a reputation for their untimely approach to things...
Dinner - We go to town for the most incredible fresh seafood platters, Lebanese meals and BBQ's almost every night as there are fantastic restaurants if you know where to find them! You will leave Dahab amazed at how good the food was, which I can honestly say is not something you could remark upon elsewhere in Egypt or with out knowing where to go in Dahab.
DRINKS & NIGHTLIFE Local beers and some OK wine is sold freely in the hotel and can be bought at the restaurants in town, however spirits are expensive and not very good. Bring a bottle if you fancy something more, but generally even the hardest core party animals cool it in Dahab as we do so much windsurfing and the nightlife is usually more conversational than wild.
The once hippy town of Asala is a little more Mediterranean now with it's promanade, yet retains it' unique colourful and friendly atmosphere. A truly cultural experience unique to Dahab!
